First, the role of machine tool fixtures

Second, the classification of machine tool fixtures
1. Classification according to the scope of application
(1) General fixture: This fixture structure is standardized and can be used in a wide range.
(2) Special machine tool fixture: This fixture is mainly for a certain kind or a process specially designed fixture. Special fixtures are suitable for relatively stable and large output processing.
(3) Combination fixture: The combination fixture contains standard originals and assemblies, which have flexible structure, short assembly time, and can be applied repeatedly for a long time, which is more suitable for single-piece small batch production processing.
(4) Group fixture: When this fixture is used for group processing, it designs and manufactures fixtures for each part group, and when one part changes in processing, only need to adjust one of the fixtures to continue production. Group fixtures are suitable for multi-variety, medium-batch production and processing.
(5) Accompanying fixture: This is a mobile fixture and a fixture that always moves along the automatic line with the workpiece. Before the workpiece enters the automatic production line for processing, the workpiece is loaded in the fixture, and when a process is completed, the fixture and the workpiece are moved to the next station together until the workpiece completes all the processing, and the workpiece is removed from the fixture.
2. Classification according to the type of machine tool used
The type of fixture is also different from the type of machine tool, therefore, the fixture can be divided into machine tool fixture, milling machine fixture, drilling machine fixture, boring machine fixture, grinding machine fixture and combination machine tool fixture and so on.
3. Classify according to the power source of the machine tool
According to the power source of the machine tool, the fixture can be divided into manual clamping fixture, pneumatic clamping fixture, hydraulic clamping fixture, gas-liquid linkage clamping fixture and electromagnetic fixture and so on.
